Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Code

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) was established in 1974 with the passing of legislation by the Texas state legislature. The airport was built on a 17,000-acre site located between the two cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. The airport cost approximately $700 million to build and was funded by both private and public sources. It was initially planned to be an international airport, but did not receive its first international flight until 1975.

The airport has since grown into one of the world’s busiest airports, handling more than 70 million passengers annually. In addition to its international flights, DFW provides domestic flights to more than 200 destinations in the United States and abroad. The airport also serves as a major hub for American Airlines, which is headquartered in Fort Worth and operates a large hub at DFW.

Innovations at DFW have included the introduction of self-service kiosks for passengers to check-in for their flights, as well as automated baggage check-in systems that are now used in many airports around the world. In recent years, DFW has expanded its terminal space with new concourses and added new amenities such as restaurants, shops, spas, and lounges to make travel more comfortable and enjoyable for passengers. The airport has also implemented green initiatives such as solar panels on some of its buildings and LED lighting throughout its terminals.
