Location
The airport, which opened in 1927, is located on the south coast of the island of Oahu. The access to the terminals is located directly on the Queen Liliuokalani Freeway at Exit # 15 (Honolulu Interstate # 1) or directly on the N.Nimitz Highway (State Route # 92), approx. 9 kilometers northwest of Downtown Honolulu-City.

Oahu Transit’s public bus routes # 19 and # 20 run regularly between the airport and downtown. You can find out the current departure times on site. For hotel guests on Waikiki Beach there is a shuttle bus service with the state-owned company “Roberts Hawaii”, which runs at regular intervals from the main terminal and stops at all hotels on Waikiki Beach. Otherwise, travel to and from the airport is also possible with taxis, limousines and rental cars.
