Location
The airport, which went into operation in 1920, is located approximately 18 kilometers northwest of downtown St. Louis, in the Hazelwood community. The terminal area can be reached either via Interstate I-70 at exit 235 AB, via Interstate I-270 at exits 22B, 23 and 25, via Interstate I-170 at exits 6, 7, 8 and 9AB or via US Highway 67.

Public transportation that regularly runs to the airport from downtown includes the TRML Metrolink and bus routes 49 and 66, which stop south of the main terminal. Furthermore, the GO BEST Express Airport Shuttle runs regularly between the hotels in downtown and the terminals.
