What is CIF?
CIF stands for “International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health”, and is the current model used by the World Health Organization (WHO) for health and disability, and constitutes the conceptual basis for defining, measuring and developing policies in this area.
The CIF addresses functionality and disability according to health conditions, indicating what an individual can or can not do in daily life, according to the functions of the body’s organs or systems and structures. This model has great advantages when implemented and can be very important when used in clinical practice, teaching and research.
Because it represents a biopsychosocial model, ICF presents a coherent view of the diverse perspectives of health: biological, individual and social. This model also aims to facilitate the dissemination of information in the area of personal health care, prevention, health promotion and increased participation, destroying social barriers and encouraging social support and facilitators.
CIF Freight
CIF may also refer to the acronym determined by Incoterms, which means Cost, Insurance and Freight.
In this case, the CIF standard determines that the supplier is responsible for all aspects of delivery, such as freight and marine insurance. The supplier has the responsibility until the merchandise arrives at its destination.
