The airport, which opened in 1929, is 3 miles south of Downwtown Memphis. The quickest way to get to the airport is Interstate 240. In Memphis, take Interstate 240 to Exit # 23a + b, then follow signs to parking on Airport Boulevard.

Passengers arriving by train can take the Amtrak “City of New Orleans” route to the Memphis Amtrak Rail Station and then from the nearby North End Terminal either the MATA bus route # 2 or bus route # 20to the airport.
