Surgical Abbreviations

Surgery is a medical science that covers surgical interventions (interventions) throughout the human body. The term “surgery” means the discipline of general surgery. As it is a complex medical discipline , various specialties aimed at the treatment of various organs and systems of the human body have emerged. Depending on this, it is divided into surgical subspecialties and specialties with a surgical focus.

In a sense, these are narrow specialties of general surgery. After Bulgaria’s accession to the EU, the doctor is no longer required to have a degree in general surgery. An exception is the specialty of Military Surgery, for the acquisition of which the doctor must have already recognized specialty in general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, neurosurgery, orthopedics and traumatology, etc.
