FGGE stands for "First GARP Global Experiment," a major scientific initiative conducted under the Global Atmospheric Research Program (GARP). The experiment, also known as the Global Weather Experiment, took place from December 1978 to November 1979 and aimed to improve the understanding of the global climate and weather systems.
