What is ISO 9001?
ISO 9001 is a standard for a particular service or product.
This standard is part of the set of standards, designated as ISO 9000 and can be implemented by organizations of any size, regardless of their area of activity.
The ISO 9001 aims to improve the management of a company and can be applied in conjunction with other operating rules, such as occupational health standards, the environment and safety.
To obtain ISO certification, a company must meet certain requirements, so that the various phases are fulfilled in an appropriate manner. Through ISO 9001, a company applies standard processes to its management and quality system.
This strategic tool is used in most countries of the world, with many awaiting certification and more than 1 million companies have this standard implemented.
Through ISO 9001, an organization improves the delivery of customer service, enabling the improvement of the delivery mechanism, for example. In addition, it is also used to measure the level of customer satisfaction, improving the effectiveness of the company’s management.
There is a version of ISO 9001, designated as ABNT NBR ISO 9001, which also aims to establish consistent standards that increase the quality of management processes. When these standards are implemented and complied with, a trust relationship is established between the company and the customer. However, an essential area of ABNT NBR ISO 9001 is that when the company does not meet the standards, the customer must give the feedback, communicating the problem, so that the performance is improved in the future.
