Location
The airport, which opened in 1947, is 5 kilometers east of downtown Charleston. The best way to get to the airport for drivers arriving from outside the city is via Interstate 64/77. If you are traveling from the south, just before Charleston, turn right at Exit # 99 and then follow the signs on State Road 114 (Greenbrier Street) to the airport.

All other passengers should either take US Highway 119 or I-64, I-77, I-79 to Charleston and then continue on Interstate 64/77 to Exit # 99 and then follow signs to the airport.

Passengers arriving by train take the Amtrak “Cardinal” line to the Charleston Rail Station and from there take a taxi to the airport, which is about 4 kilometers away.
