The airport, which went into operation in 1966, is located approximately 10 kilometers south of Hurghada and can be reached via highway 24 in the direction of Port Safaga. A shuttle bus service is currently not offered. After every landing, both minibuses and taxis are available. However, package holidaymakers are usually picked up by their tour operator and transported to their hotel accommodation.
