Little Rock National Airport, also known as Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was originally established as Adams Field in 1941 and served as a military airfield during World War II. After the war, it was handed over to the City of Little Rock and became a public airport. The airport underwent several expansions throughout the 1950s and 1960s which included the construction of a new terminal building, additional runways, and an extension of its taxiways. In 1975, the airport was renamed Little Rock National Airport after President Bill Clinton’s election in 1992. Over the years, the airport has seen numerous upgrades including new terminals and concourses, updated runways and taxiways, additional parking garages, improved passenger amenities such as restaurants and shops. Additionally, it has become an important hub for cargo operations with several major freight companies operating out of its facilities. Today Little Rock National Airport is one of Arkansas’s busiest airports serving over three million passengers annually with more than 100 daily arrivals and departures to destinations across the nation.
