In 1955, an additional runway was added to better serve commercial airlines such as United Airlines and Northwest Orient Airlines, which were some of the first carriers to offer service at Bozeman-Gallatin Field Airport. In 1959, a new terminal building was built with more modern amenities such as jetways and baggage claim areas. Throughout its history, Bozeman-Gallatin Field Airport has continued to expand its facilities with expansion projects such as additional hangars and taxiways being added over time. Additionally, several airlines have come and gone from Bozeman-Gallatin Field Airport over the years including Frontier Airlines in 1999 and Allegiant Air in 2013.
