East Texas Regional Airport (KGGG) has been in operation since 1942. The airport was originally used as a United States Army Air Force training facility during World War II, but after the war it was opened to the public and began serving commercial flights. In 1954, the airport was designated as an international port of entry, allowing for international air traffic to and from East Texas. Since then, East Texas Regional Airport has grown to become one of the largest airports in the region, serving millions of passengers each year. The airport is home to a number of airlines including American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and more. Additionally, KGGG also offers general aviation services such as aircraft rental and maintenance. Location
The airport is approximately 12 kilometers south of Longview. Passengers arriving by car from a further field should drive from Longview on State Highway # 149/322 to the junction for State Highway # 322 (Gardiner Mitchell Parkway) and then follow the signs to the approximately 3 miles away Airport.
Passengers arriving by train take the “Texas Eagle” to Longview Amtrak Rail Station and from there take a taxi to the airport, which is about 13 kilometers away. There is currently no shuttle bus service.
