Lincoln Airport Abbreviation Code

Lincoln Airport was established in 1927 as the first municipal airport in the state of Nebraska. The original airport was located on the eastern edge of Lincoln, and it was used for both passenger and cargo operations. The first commercial flight at Lincoln Airport took place on June 15, 1927, with a plane operated by Ford Motor Company. In 1941, the airport was relocated to its current location on West O Street. This relocation allowed for a longer runway and more space for hangars and other facilities. Over the years, Lincoln Airport has continued to expand its services and facilities, including air traffic control tower, additional runways, taxiways, hangars and other amenities. Today it is one of the busiest airports in Nebraska with over 200 daily flights serving more than 300 destinations around the world. The airport also offers a wide range of services such as car rental companies, restaurants, retail stores and lounges. Additionally there is an aviation museum located just outside of the terminal which houses artifacts related to aviation history in Nebraska. Lincoln Airport is committed to providing safe and reliable air service to its customers while also supporting economic development in the region by providing jobs and contributing to tourism efforts.
