What is TRX?
TRX stands for Total body- Resistance Exercise (meaning resistance exercise of the whole body ), apparatus used to practice in suspension, and is also called TRX Suspension Training, or suspended training.
TRX was a device originally designed to train US Navy soldiers within a demanding program called “Seals” and was created because the Navy was very concerned about having a small device that was easy to carry.
The TRX weighs just over a pound, can be stuck in any fixed structure and needs only a small space around it. The device allows a great number of exercises, with the progression of the own training. It was also created, so that soldiers wherever they were, could get exercise, and thus maintain a physical condition of excellence to face any situation.
The TRX is a device designed for individual or group training and is based on strength training, promoting joint stabilization and providing exemplary results, regardless of the physical condition of the trainee. TRX transforms body weight into variable resistance. Those who are using the device can choose the level of difficulty of the exercise simply by changing the position of the body itself, not needing to use additional weights.
The TRX system is important in functional strength training, specific sports training, indoor and outdoor group training, flexibility and rehabilitation, personal trainers, high competition, martial arts, dance, military training, physiotherapy, pilates, and others.
The use of the TRX system has several benefits, among them: improves posture, muscle balance and athletic ability; strengthens the spine, and several others.
In the context of sports practice, TRX is an acronym used in several models of Adidas branded boots.
