Location
The airport, which has been in operation since 1927, is located approx. 22 kilometers south of downtown San Francisco, on an artificially created area in the San Francisco Bay, not far from the neighboring communities of San Bruno and Millbrae.
The terminal area can be reached via US Highway # 101 and Interstate # 380. Various express trains of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) run between the airport and various stops in the Bay Area. You can find out the current departure times on site. Furthermore, from the nearby Millbrae station, the local trains of the Caltrain run south through the “Silicon Valley”, for example to San Mateo, Palo Alto or Mountain View. The remaining communities in the Bay Area that are not developed by BART or Caltrain are served by SamTrans.
