Location
The airport, which opened in 1932, is located about 12 kilometers west of the city center. Motorists coming from outside the city should take US Highway 101 from Santa Barbara towards Santa Maria and turn left at the village of Goleta onto Highway 217. The further way is then signposted.

Passengers arriving by train take either the “Pacific Surfliner” or the “Coast Starlight” to the Santa Barbara Amtrak station and then change to bus line # 11 of the public transport company MTD at the nearby Transit Center.
