The Chippewa Valley Regional Airport (CVRA) was established in 1956, when a local businessman purchased the land and opened the airport. Initially, the airport was only used for private aircraft, but over time it has become a hub for commercial flights. CVRA offers daily flights to major cities throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota, as well as several seasonal flights to destinations abroad. The airport also serves as a base for regional air freight operations and aircraft maintenance services. In recent years, CVRA has made significant investments in infrastructure upgrades, including runway expansion and a new control tower. These improvements have allowed the airport to serve larger aircraft and increase the number of passengers served each year. In addition to these upgrades, CVRA has also begun offering additional amenities such as car rental services and an on-site restaurant. As a result of these improvements, Chippewa Valley Regional Airport has become an important part of the region’s transportation system. It is estimated that over 500 people are employed by CVRA in various capacities and that thousands more benefit from its services each year.
